THE ROLE WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING SweatWorks, the leading technology company in the fitness industry, is hiring a DevOps Engineer fluent in written and spoken English and with full-time availability. You will work with our internal teams to ensure our infrastructure is running smoothly for our developers to successfully ship high-quality code. You will contribute directly to projects collaborating with product teams and clients. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing and scaling our infrastructure to deliver the best quality products. Responsibilities: Act as the primary owner of our AWS environment. Ensure its security, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while leveraging AWS services to their full potential. Critically assess, redesign, and improve our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines. Streamline our development and deployment processes to boost productivity and stability. Lead the transformation of our infrastructure setup by employing Terraform to codify our infrastructure, ensuring repeatability, scalability, and higher quality of service. Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems that preemptively catch and address issues before they impact our users. Ensure that these systems are also capable of providing insightful data for debugging and optimization. Define and govern DevOps standards and best practices. Educate and guide team members to adopt these practices, ensuring a unified and efficient approach to our development and operational activities. Ensure that our infrastructure and applications adhere to the highest security standards, implementing security best practices and conducting regular security audits to identify and mitigate potential risks. Work closely with development teams to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Lead by example, demonstrating an innovative approach to solving complex technical challenges. YOUR SKILLS WHAT WE REQUIRE At least 5 years of relevant experience in DevOps roles, with a proven track record of owning and optimizing cloud environments, preferably AWS. Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with tools such as GitHub Actions is a must. Previous experience or a strong foundation in JavaScript is required. The ability to understand and work with code is crucial for effective collaboration with development teams and scripting automation tools. Advanced knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS (Amazon Web Services), including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and CloudFormation. Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, or similar technologies. Ability to set up comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems for cloud-based infrastructure. Knowledge of security best practices and tools. Experience implementing security measures in the cloud and CI/CD pipelines, such as static code analysis, dependency scanning, and secrets management. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis. Experience diagnosing and resolving issues in development, testing, and production environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to lead by example, mentor team members, and drive the adoption of DevOps best practices across the organization. Strong understanding of version control systems, preferably Git, including branching strategies and collaborative workflows Advanced expertise in Docker management and deployment. Solid proficiency in JavaScript, ranging from average to expert level, coupled with a readiness to support development and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to updating Node versions and dependencies as necessary. Hands-on experience with the Serverless framework and Terraform for infrastructure implementation.
